With more and more people looking to the purchase of motorcycles for a variety of reasons, new technology is being researched each day to make the commute safe for motorcycle riders. One of the most impressive inventions to date under the category of safety is the airbag motorcycle jackets that are now being offered to consumers world wide. An airbag motorcycle jacket is a full sleeved jacket that is attached by a clip to a point on the motorcycle. If a rider is thrown from their bike, the clip will detach and activate an inner bladder that instantly inflates before the rider impacts pavement or anything that may pose potential danger when thrown from the motorcycle.

There has been a lot of skepticism over the last couple of years on whether or not these types of safety devices will work. What are the Features of the Jacket

At the neck position, the jackets inflate to reduce the snapping motion and cushion the impact that one may suffer when being thrown from their motorcycle. Along with the neck support, the airbag motorcycle jacket features an inflation zone in the lumbar area as well. The inflation zone in the lumbar area is also designed to reduce the snapping motion when one rolls and tumbles after being in high speed accidents. This area helps to hold the vertebrae in place, which does not allow the whipping motion would would normally experience while rolling and tumbling. Another inflation zone protecting the ribs and sternum inflates as well. In whole, imagine that you have three inner tubes that surround the body's core areas. One tube protects your neck, one tube protects your sternum, ribs, and middle back, and one tube protects your lower back and pelvic regions. This type of protection can greatly reduce many of the injuries associated with motorcycle accidents and falls.
